API Overview

Single Endpoint

POST to /v1/score with a company identifier (domain, email, LinkedIn URL, or company name). Get back a structured JSON response with score, breakdown, similar customers, and confidence level.

Flexible Input

Pass whatever identifier you have. Domain is most accurate, but the API accepts email addresses, LinkedIn URLs, and company names as fallbacks. Partial data returns partial results — never errors.

Rich Response

Every response includes: overall score (0-100), percentile rank, letter grade (A-F), similar customer matches with shared attributes, factor-by-factor breakdown (company size, industry, tech stack, funding, growth signals), natural language explanation, confidence level, and data freshness timestamp.

Technical Details

Authentication

Bearer token in the Authorization header. Get your API key from the Conturs dashboard. Supports multiple keys for dev/staging/production environments.

Rate Limits

Free tier: 100 requests/month, 10 per minute. Production tier: custom limits based on plan. Rate limit headers included in every response (X-RateLimit-Remaining, X-RateLimit-Reset).

Response Time

Average response time under 200ms for cached domains, under 2 seconds for new lookups. Subsequent requests for the same domain are served from cache.

Error Handling

Standard HTTP status codes. 200 for success (including partial results), 401 for auth errors, 429 for rate limits, 500 for server errors. Every error includes a human-readable message and error code.

A simple cURL request demonstrates the API: POST to the score endpoint with your API key and a JSON body containing the domain. The response includes the score, breakdown, similar customers, and explanation — everything needed to make a routing decision.
